Mercedes-Benz Stadium visitor guide

If you're looking for the ultimate action-packed activity while in Atlanta, GA, tickets to a game or show at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium are a must-have. The stadium opened in 2017 and replaced the iconic Georgia Dome. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is home to not one but two exciting professional sports teams. Both the MLS's Atlanta United FC and the NFL's Atlanta Falcons call this stadium home.

And while sports provide plenty of action and entertainment, it doesn't end there. This venue also hosts some of the biggest shows and concert tours out there, such as Carrie Underwood and Beyoncé. The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is also home to the incredibly popular annual Peach Bowl.

One of the best ways to get the most out of your visit to the stadium is to include some sightseeing before or after the event. Atlanta has a huge variety of attractions which include Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Park, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, and Georgia Aquarium.

Regardless of what kind of event you're attending at the stadium, you need to be aware of the bag policy. Because it's so strict, you'll need to have a plan of what you're taking with you and where you'll stow your luggage and oversized bags, which is exactly where we come in. So let's take a look.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium bag policy

Mercedes-Benz Stadium Bag Policy

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium has a clear bag policy in effect. Guests can use clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that aren't larger than 12" x 6" x 12". This bag policy extends to clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, and clear cinch bags. Guests can use a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. Additionally, guests can bring a small bag that doesn't exceed 4.5" x 6.5", which doesn't have to be clear.

Not allowed entry into the stadium are bags that have hardware, grommets, or décor. These can conceal parts of the bag making it impossible to conduct a proper inspection. If you have medically necessary items that don't fit in the bag policy, be sure to contact the stadium in advance to ask about exceptions.

So what happens if you have an item on event day that doesn't adhere to the bag policy? Not to worry, we've got the solution for you!
