Denver, Colorado is often described as one of the most scenic cities in the country and a great place to visit. Located in the Colorado Rockies, it's hard to find better views than these. The Rocky Mountain backdrop seems to surround you no matter where you are, and it always seems like you're just a couple of steps away from nature and untouched beauty.

For Major League Baseball (MLB) Colorado Rockies fans, no visit to Denver is complete without watching a game at Coors Field. Rockies games are known for being a great time and with more than 50,000 fans that can pack the stadium, you can bet it gets pretty exciting.

Constructed in 1998, this open-air ballpark has a sense of nostalgia about it. You can chalk it up to the design and the eye-catching architecture at the main entrance. This one also has a reputation for being a homerun park, which means there's a higher chance you'll get to see one happen while you're there.

And while a Rockies game is appealing to many, it may not be your cup of tea. It's worth noting that this ballpark is versatile and also hosts other types of events. Concerts are a big part of the schedule here with some of the biggest acts performing in Coors Field. These have included artists such as Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Zac Brown Band, Billy Joel, Def Leppard, and Journey.

With the ballpark being centrally located in downtown Denver, it's also a great excuse to do some exploring. Some of the highlights in Denver include the 16th Street Mall, Denver Botanic Gardens, the Denver Art Museum, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. There is no shortage of dining and shopping options in the downtown core either.

Bag Policy Details - Coors Field

The last thing you want is to get to Coors Field only to discover the bag you've brought isn't permitted. So let's take a look at the rules concerning bags. Guests can have one soft-sided, single-pocket bag or container. The bag cannot exceed 16" x 16" x 8" and all bags will be searched before entry in one of the inspection lanes.

This means backpacks, multi-pocket purses, and other multi-pocket bags are all prohibited items. All hard-sided coolers are also prohibited. If your bags don't comply with the policy, you can store them at the on-site lockers. These can be expensive and there aren't a lot of them, so there's no guarantee you'll get one.

Public transportation is typically the best way to get to the venue. It's just two blocks from Union Station, which is fed by all kinds of routes and lines. This is the most dependable way to make it in time for the first pitch.

And speaking of parking, yes you can drive to the venue but parking lots get very busy and are usually pricey. The venue's official parking lot is at Park Avenue West and Wazee Street. Another option is valet parking passes and services. These are $35-$40 on event days and are located VIP parking lot at 22nd and Blake Streets.

Aluminum or metal cans aren't permitted. Alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are also prohibited. Food must be cut into individual portions.

You can purchase food and beverage options throughout the stadium if you prefer. Depending on your tickets you may also be eligible for in-seat dining. This means the food is served to you in your seat.
