The bag policy allows for some bags, but there are still many prohibited items. The policy is in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests at Disney Parks. Suitcases/luggage, bags, backpacks, and coolers, with or without wheels that exceed 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high won't be allowed through the park entrance.

Every person and item that is brought into the park is also subject to security inspection and screening. Disney Parks can also refuse items and bags they deem inappropriate.

Disney Parks Outside Food and Drink Policy

For those thinking about bringing food, snacks, and beverages into the park, there are some rules. You a permitted to bring in nonalcoholic beverages and outside food and snacks as long as they are for personal consumption. These items cannot be packed in glass containers unless it is baby food jars. Just be sure to let a security cast member know that you have these items during the security inspection process.

Outside alcohol cannot be brought into the parks, except in the hotels of the Disneyland Resort.

Getting to the Parks

For guests choosing to drive, Disneyland offers lots of onsite parking. You will need to allow time to park and ride the shuttle to the entrance gates. There is ADA-friendly parking as well near the park gates in specialty lots. Shuttles, limos, and taxis can bring you to the park and drop you off at specific locations. 

Metro lines and bus lines will bring you to the park as well. The LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections sign will take you to the Disney buses straight from the airport. The Metro Rail Green Line will drop you off at Norwalk Station, and you can then board Metro Express Line 460 to get to the resort itself.

Rideshare drivers will drop you off near the Rainforest Café and ESPN Zone. There is a taxi pickup area near the main esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

If you've booked a Disney vacation where you'll be staying at a Disneyland Resort, then you will already be on-property and don't need to worry about transportation methods.

Disneyland Camera Policy

Guests can feel free to take photos and videos while in the park, but the items need to fit in a backpack. The park doesn't allow selfie sticks, monopods, and tripods that exceed 6" in length.

Supervision of Children

While Disneyland is a family atmosphere, children are required to be supervised. All guests under 14 years old must be accompanied by a guest older than 14. When boarding rides, kids under age seven must be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older.

Specific Disneyland Rules

It is recommended you also read about the list of prohibited items so you are prepared when you get to the site. Items include:

  • Firearms and weapons
  • Toys that look like weapons or firearms (toy guns, squirt guns, toy blasters, and so on)
  • Laser pointers
  • Artificial noisemakers, horns, whistles
  • Smoking, e-cigarettes, and tobacco are only allowed the outdoor designated smoking areas
  • Smoking marijuana or other illegal substances
  • Pepper spray and mace
  • Outside alcoholic beverages
  • Drones
  • Animals with the exception of service animals
  • Fireworks
  • Remote-control toys
  • Glass containers
  • Wagons (this includes stroller wagons)
  • Folding Chairs
  • Golf clubs within Disney California Adventure Park or Disneyland Park
