Citi Field, New York

Located in Flushing Meadows, in the borough of Queens, is the home stadium of the MLB's New York Mets. This wasn't the original stadium the Mets played in, instead, the team got a major facelift to its digs when Citi Field opened in 2009, adjacent to the old Shea Stadium.

Citi Field is an impressive ballpark, to say the least, and you can bet that the fans get pretty lively as they're cheering for the home team. Just like in the old Shea Stadium, apple lights will illuminate any time a Mets player hits a home run. It's that touch of classic baseball that helps make Citi Field such a fun atmosphere.

And if you're going to watch a ballgame at Citi Field, you have to take the time to check out the Jackie Robinson Rotunda and the Mets Hall of Fame. Any hardcore fan or baseball history buff will love the experience.

But it's not just the Mets that play here, it also hosts races, concerts, and other events.

The baseball history is all fine and great, but let's not ignore the fact you're in New York City and you need to venture out past Citi Field. You can make a whole day of it and explore top sights, check out various attractions, do some shopping, and stop and eat in any place that catches your eye.

One important thing to remember as you head to Citi Field for a big game or event is that there is a bag policy in effect. Here we'll go over the specifics so you know what to expect. We can also help you when it comes to storing luggage and oversized bags that won't be allowed in the ballpark.

The In's and Out's of the Citi Field Bag Policy

Heading to the ballpark means you need to be prepared for its bag policy. Prohibited items won't be allowed in the park, and you want to be able to move through the security procedures quickly and smoothly. So let's break things down.

The stadium has a list of accepted and prohibited bags. One thing to note is that backpacks aren't allowed into the stadium. The size doesn't matter, backpacks will be turned away. The one exception is completely clear backpacks with no interior pockets. Remember, it still needs to fit within the size limit.

Bags that are permitted must be no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" and can be purses, diaper bags, backpack-style tote drawstring bags, messenger-style bags, and fanny packs. These along with small soft-sided coolers and medical bags for medical equipment will be allowed.

If you've got luggage and other bags that don't fit within the bag policy, be warned that there is no storage or lockers on-site. This is where we come in extremely handy. Bounce is all about solving your luggage storage issues so you can focus on having fun.
