Wells Fargo Center bag policy

Wells Fargo Center Bag Policy

When it comes to the Wells Fargo Center bag policy, there are several restrictions to be aware of. First off, there are specific "bag entry locations" at the 11th Street and Broad Street entrances that do a proper inspection. There is also bag entry at the Premium Access entrance.

If you have bags that are larger than 4.5” x 6.5” but smaller than 14”x14”x6”, you can enter through these gates and all bags will be x-ray screened by arena security. These rules apply to the Sixers and Flyers games.

In terms of what bags are allowed inside, you can have hand clutches, small purses, and wristlets as long as they follow the size restrictions. If the item is smaller than 4.5”x6.5”, it won't need to be x-ray screened by security.

Prohibited items under the bag policy include multi-compartment bags, luggage, and backpacks. The exceptions are medical bags needed for a medical condition and parental bags. These still need to be smaller than 14” x 14” x 6” and will still go through security screening.

The stadium does have storage lockers onsite but they are relatively small, they aren't free to use, and there are very limited quantities available.

Additional Information and Policies in the Wells Fargo Center

Besides the bag policy, there are other league and event guidelines that the arena has in place. We've also got some tips for you that can help with your visit.

Getting to the Wells Fargo Center

Getting to the Wells Fargo arena couldn't be simpler thanks to the various transportation methods. Because it's located in South Philadelphia, it's not in the heart of downtown. That makes it a bit less congested, even on event days.

Public transportation is almost always the best answer. You can use the SEPTA Subway system, which is the main train network in the city. The AT&T Station is the one closest to the Wells Fargo Center. This one will take you from downtown Philly to the arena.

Driving is another option, but parking can be a bit of an issue. There are parking lots in the area but they fill up fast. You'll need to arrive well before the arena opens to get a spot. They are also expensive, and the price increases for most events.

Outside Food and Drink Policy

The Wells Fargo Center food policy prohibits all outside food and beverages, this includes outside alcoholic beverages. Fans can't bring bottles inside, even water bottles. Medical exceptions can be made with guest services.

Worth noting, the arena has recently become a strawless building. This is meant to decrease the environmental footprint. No drinks will be served with straws.

Even though the food and drink policy is strict, you're not going to go hungry. The Wells Fargo Center has an impressive variety of concession stands. You'll have no problem finding something you want. You can also arrive early and eat at a restaurant near the arena if you choose.

Wells Fargo Center Camera Policy

The camera policy at the Wells Fargo Center allows you to bring a standard personal camera. Cameras can't have detachable lenses longer than 2.5". All contour cameras, video cameras, and GoPros are prohibited. Professional equipment like tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are also prohibited.

Entry

All gates open 90 minutes before game time, but other events can vary. Be sure to check your ticket or go online and check the event information. Fans take note that if you leave the arena, re-entry is prohibited.

Cashless Facility

Like so many arenas across the country, the Wells Fargo Center is completely cashless. You can use debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you only have cash on you, then the reverse ATMs in the building will prove handy. They will convert your cash to a prepaid debit card.

Smoke-Free Facility

The Fargo Center is also a smoke-free facility, which includes cigarettes, vaping, and electronic cigarettes.
