Climate Pledge Arena bag policy

Seattle is known for having some of the most stunning natural beauty in the United States. Nestled between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean, it doesn't get much better than that. But that's not all Seattle is known for. This is a city that has deep sports roots, with several professional teams. For those who are a fan of hockey, a trip to Climate Pledge Arena is an absolute must.

Built in 1962 you could call this arena a classic. There is plenty of history within the stadium, and while it was once called the Seattle Center Coliseum and was home to the NBA's Seattle Supersonics, they have since moved on to another market. The arena was then renamed and became home to the NHL's Seattle Kracken.

Besides hockey, the arena routinely hosts concerts and other live shows and events. It's always a buzz with activity it seems. Climate Pledge Arena is conveniently located near many of the city’s best attractions, which is ideal if you've just got a short layover.

If you’re traveling and find yourself stuck with your bags, you’ll need to arrange a place to store them during the show because of the strict bag policy at the venue. We have plenty of locations throughout the city, especially near Seattle Center and Climate Pledge Arena.

Climate Pledge Arena Bag Policy Details

Climate Pledge Arena has a pretty strict clear bag policy in effect for all games and events. Bags need to be clear and not exceed 14″w x 14″h x 6″d. Bags cannot have more than two pockets. Small clutches, purses, and wallets need to be smaller than 4″w x 6″h x 1.5″d. All clear bags that are bigger than 4″w x 6″h x 1.5″d will go through a security inspection.

Exceptions to the bag policy are made for medical and diaper bags. Guests carrying clear bags, medical bags, or diaper bags should allow extra time for entry and arrive a little earlier.

If you have any questions about the Climate Pledge Arena bag policy, it's best to contact guest services in advance.

Climate Pledge Arena - Additional Policies and Tips

Besides the Climate Pledge Arena bag policy, there are some additional rules and tips that you'll want to know about.

Outside Food and Beverage Policy

There is no outside food or drink allowed in the arena, except for one non-glass reusable water bottle per person. The bottle can't be bigger than 32 oz and has to be empty when you arrive. The good news is that fans will have plenty to choose from, as the arena has all kinds of mouth-watering concessions and vendors.

Climate Pledge Arena Transportation

Getting to the Climate Pledge arena is possible by a few different modes of transportation. If you're in the downtown core before the entry process begins, you may be able to walk. Taxis and rideshares are perfect for short distances.

Public transportation is available in Seattle and will get you to the downtown core. You can use the Seattle Center Monorail, the King County Metro buses, or the Sound Transit's Link Light Rail.

If you want to drive to the arena, it's located on the western corner of Seattle Center, which is a large entertainment complex near downtown. Parking on special events days and nights gets very busy so you need to arrive well before the doors open. Even then, there is no guarantee you'll find a spot at the arena garage or surrounding parking lots.

Climate Pledge Arena Camera Policy

Cameras are allowed at the arena, but professional photography equipment is prohibited. Within that category are external flash units, telephoto or interchangeable lenses, audio recording devices, video recording devices, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, and detachable lenses. GoPro cameras aren't allowed either.

Most events allow non-professional cameras only, which means you are taking photos for personal use.

Entry

The gates will open 90 minutes before the puck drops for Seattle Kraken games. The same goes for concerts unless otherwise stated on the ticket. If you leave the venue, re-entry won't be allowed.

Signs and Banners

Signs are allowed but cannot be larger than 24′′ x 36′′. They cannot be commercial, political, or inappropriate in any way and must be relevant to the event. Flags are allowed so long as the user does not wave them in a way that obstructs the view of other guests. There may also be event-specific restrictions.

Climate Pledge Arena Is a Cashless Facility

Climate Pledge Arena is a cashless venue. You will need to use credit or debit cards to make purchases. Some retailers will accept Google Pay and Apple Pay. If needed, there are reverse ATMs on-site.
