T-Mobile Park bag policy guide

Seattle is one of the most picturesque cities in the country. It's surrounded by mountains in one direction, and the ocean in the other. Even the locals can't help but take things slow and enjoy the natural beauty.

If you're planning to visit Seattle and are a sports fan, then T-Mobile Park is probably on your radar. This stadium is home to the MLB Seattle Mariners. The stadium seats almost 48,000 and you can bet it's packed pretty full for home games. But it's more than just baseball, T-Mobile Park has become a multi-purpose entertainment center hosting concerts and other events.

So besides events at the stadium, what else can you do in Seattle? Exploring the Seattle Waterfront is a must for first-time visitors, as well as visiting Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, The Seattle Great Wheel, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Museum of Pop Culture.

But before you get to exploring and heading to the stadium, first we need to look at the bag policy.

T-Mobile Park Bag Policy

The T-Mobile Park bag policy allows guests to bring one clear plastic bag in with them that can't exceed 12" x 6" x 12". A clear plastic zip-top bag is allowed, but can't be bigger than one gallon. Security staff need to be able to see the bottom of the bag without the interior contents obscured. One exception to the clear plastic bag policy is small clutch bags and small purses. They can't exceed 4.5" x 6.5".

Besides the clear bag policy, there are some bags considered prohibited items. Bags that won't be allowed include duffle bags, large backpacks, and purses larger than the specified size. Those with infants and small children can bring single-compartment diaper bags in. Multi-compartment bags aren't allowed. Medical bags and assistive listening devices are also allowed.

The only exceptions are wheelchairs, strollers, and mobility products. You'll need to head to the guest service center once you are through security so you can stow it. Service animals are also permitted. If you have questions about these exceptions, you can contact guest services in advance.

There are no storage lockers on site for luggage or oversized bags and belongings.

How to Get to the Stadium

Getting to the stadium is simple and you've got options. For those who want to drive, the Mariners garage is only a short walk away from the gates. Parking fills up fast and is typically expensive on game days. Sometimes there are weekend parking rates available.

There are several parking garages nearby that can be a bit less crowded, but there is no free parking. Be advised that on-street curb locations and street parking are not available on game days.

Public transportation tends to be faster and more reliable if there's a Mariners home game. The stadium is near the Link light rail stations, the ST Express bus route stops, and several bus routes not on the ST Express line. All the transportation options listed here will be cheaper than parking.

If you'd rather, there are ride shares too. The taxi stand operates during games, which can make things faster when you exit T-Mobile Park.

Camera Policy

As most Major League Baseball stadiums allow, you can bring a camera to the game, concert, or event. It can't be a professional camera and the lens can't be longer than 6".

Outside Food and Drink Policy

You may be surprised to learn that outside food is allowed but there is one rule. It needs to be in single-serving sizes. You can also bring in sealed clear plastic water bottles as long as they don't exceed 32 oz. Single-serve soft-sided containers are also allowed, such as juice boxes. Refillable water bottles are also allowed, but they have to be plastic. Metal and glass bottles aren't allowed for Seattle Mariners games or events.

If you have medicinal beverages or baby bottles, they will be allowed in but soda and coffee are prohibited items. Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed into the stadium.

There's no way you'll go hungry though as the stadium has an impressive amount of food options. You'll find the traditional ballpark food roster like hot dogs and fries, as well as other tasty offerings. There is even the Mariners Value Menu and the popular value beer program. Just be sure you have a credit or debit card since this is a cashless stadium.

For those who'd rather eat before heading into the stadium, there are plenty of options all within a few blocks.

When Do the Gates Open?

Fans often like to arrive early for Mariners' games, especially if they want to catch batting practice. Be advised that the gates don't open until 90 minutes before the game, while the Pen opens two hours before.
